In 1980, NBC aired a mini-series based on James Clavell’s Shogun. Even at age 9, I felt an immediate kinship with Japanese culture. From that point on, anything related to Japan caught my attention. … Why? I don’t know. Maybe I was Japanese in a past life. LOL.
